Martin Montiel
Born in Tijuana Mexico 1977 a self-taught artist who started working locally illustrating for advertising and media projects. Soon after he started working continuously for American companies such as Penny Farthing Press (2000) on their flagship book titled “The Victorian” for 7 issues, then moved on to co-create Zendra for 2 series of 6 issues.
After that he moved to TopCow prod. Studio (2003) to work on books like: Nottingham, Witchblade, The Darkness and The magdalena / Vampirella crossover…
Aside from topcow, some of the most notable penciling work has been a Mark Waid graphic novel to accompany the videogame “Legendary the box” (released 2009) by Spark Entertainment.
Martin also did assistance work (penciling 7 pages) on “Earp” for Radical publishing (2010) and moved to Zenescope Entertainment to pencil “Grimm Fairy Tales: Humpty Dumpy” and “Wonderland Tales: The Mad Hatter vs The Queen Of Hearts” and Raven Gregory’s “The Theater” (2011).
Martin is currently residing in Tijuana Mexico with his wife Violeta Rivas.
